Submitting Resolutions for consideration by the County Party Executive Committee.
Process:
- All resolutions must originate at the precinct level.
- The precinct meeting must be properly called by the precinct president and advertised by written notice no less than 48 hours before the meeting is set to begin.
Submittal:
- If the resolution is passed by a majority of those present at the precinct meeting, the resolution may then be submitted to the resolutions committee no less than 10 days prior to the next scheduled meeting of the Executive Committee if it is to be included on the agenda. (NOTE: A one time exception will be made to this rule for the meeting scheduled for June 26, 2025 due to the short notice given by the Resolutions Committee on the resolution process. In this one instance, resolutions will be accepted up to June 21, 2025, five days prior to the next scheduled EC meeting.)
- Submittal must include:
- a copy of the resolution, with printed names and signatures of all precinct members who favor of it
- a copy of meeting minutes, which includes the date, time, and place of the meeting and a list of all those in attendance
- a copy of the written notice for the precinct meeting in which the resolution was considered
Resolutions should be formatted as follows:
- An Introductory Clause that states the reason(s) for why the resolution should be adopted. Each reason should be a separate clause beginning with "whereas" and ending with a semicolon.
- An Operative Clause which gives the specific action desired. It should begin with, "be it resolved that," or similar language.
